What this service is

Lighthouse Code is a learning site: written lessons, hands-on challenges, automatic code grading and an AI tutor you can talk to. Lessons, challenges and grading are free. Talking to the AI tutor costs points.

Your account

• You need a valid email address and you are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One person, one account. Do not share credentials.
• Tell us promptly if you think someone else is using your account.
• We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, and we will tell you why if you ask.

Points

• Points are a prepaid in-app credit used only to talk to the AI tutor. They are not money, not a currency, and cannot be cashed out, transferred or refunded for cash.
• You get points for signing up, for logging in daily, for watching reward ads and for passing challenges. You can also buy them.
• Points do not expire. There is no subscription and nothing auto-renews.
• If an AI answer fails — timeout, upstream error, empty reply — the points for that question are refunded automatically. If it answered and you simply did not like the answer, the points stand.
• We may adjust how many points free actions grant, and prices for new purchases, going forward. Points you already hold keep working.

Purchases and refunds

Purchases are handled by our payment processor. If a purchase fails to credit your balance, email us and we will fix it. Because points are delivered instantly and digitally, we do not offer refunds once they are spent. If you bought points by mistake and have not spent them, write to us within 14 days and we will refund them.

Using the AI tutor responsibly

• The AI gets things wrong. Treat it like a smart friend, not an oracle: run the code and check the result.
• Do not paste secrets, credentials, personal data about other people, or anything you are not allowed to share.
• Do not use it to generate illegal, harmful or hateful content, or to attack the service (automated scraping, prompt-injection attacks, resale of access).

Code you run

Your code runs in a sandbox with a short time limit. Do not try to break out of it, mine cryptocurrency, attack other systems or use it as a general-purpose compute service. Accounts that do get suspended.

Content and ownership

Lessons, challenges and site design belong to us; you may use them to learn, but not republish them as your own. The code you write stays yours. By sending questions to the AI tutor you give us permission to process them in order to answer you and to keep your history.

Ads

Free access is paid for by ads. Reward ads grant points only through the official rewarded-ad format, which the ad network verifies. We never ask you to click an ad for a reward, and doing so violates the ad network's rules.

No warranty, and limits

The service is provided "as is". We do not promise it will always be available, bug-free or correct. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Ending things

You can stop using the service or ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to hello@example.com. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we close your account without cause, we will refund unspent purchased points.

Changes to these terms

We will update the date at the top and announce significant changes in the app. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the service and ask us to close your account.
